Hurricane Irene Marches North

It has been a few years since a Hurricane has hit the coast of the US. And it has been many years since a storm hit New England before hitting southern coasts first. Hurricane Irene looks like she might break the cycle. The Barton & Gray Crews are taking necessary precautions - some yachts will sit on the hard, some will get buttoned up on some storm moorings in protected shallow water, and all will get battened down. Of course the concern is about the yacht itself getting damaged - but there are bigger risks. When a boat is pulled from a dock or anchor in big waves, currents and wind - it becomes a loose cannon that threatens everything in the harbor. So it is our responsibility to make sure our yachts are safe and sound and we are doing everything we can. Good luck to everyone.
