Boat Business Breathing Room?

This weekend the NYT's Sunday Paper's Media page showed the breakdown of TV & Radio ratings, online traffic and Newspaper and Magazine ad sales for the month of July. Most shocking was seeing Power & Motoryacht and Yachting in the top 10 magazines in terms of ad sales - with P&MY holding the top spot. For sure, the wealthy are healthy - recent action notwithstanding, the markets have rebounded well since the great recession, and these magazines cater to the well-heeled. Nonetheless, the boat industry is still shaky - many builders are gone for good, and the rest are nowhere near pre-recession levels. We will see where these figures head going into the Holidays and report back, interesting.
